Plastic steel sheet piles offer three core advantages in typhoon flood control:
(1) Exceptional corrosion resistance. During typhoon-induced seawater intrusion, ordinary steel plates corrode rapidly in seawater. Plastic steel sheet piles, however, resist corrosion and withstand acids and alkalis. Even after prolonged immersion in saltwater, their structural strength remains superior to that of metal materials.
(2) Exceptional impact resistance. Typhoon floods often carry debris like branches and rocks. The toughness of plastic-steel sheet piles prevents brittle fracture upon impact, making them more durable than rigid yet brittle concrete panels.
(3) Lightweight for easy transportation. Plastic-steel sheet piles weigh only one-quarter of steel sheet piles of the same size. This facilitates transportation, simplifies installation, and reduces overall costs.
